Located in the Capitol Centre, Cardiff's edition of the Austin Reed chain boasts beautiful, marble accented tile in the front entrance. The dressing rooms are arranged in discreet groups in the center of the store, so that you have to wind your way around them in order to see everything the store has to offer. Here, you'll find the usual selection, including men's sport coats, pants, pullover and button-down shirts, sweaters, and a rather substantial selection of suits. Aside from offering men's formal wear and accessories, Austin Reed also carries women's clothing.

This burgundy wood and gray marble building in St. David's Centre offers some of the best basic wear in town. The store's interior is spare and clean, with hardwood floors leading in and out of departments and white walls focusing the customer's attention on the racks and not the decor. Burton's two-level store specializes in its own brand name apparel, but you will also recognize such labels as Jonathan Adams, Nico, and Levi. Everything from jeans and corduroys to sweaters and three-button suits may be purchased here. You'll also want to check out their leather coats and rainbow-like selection of dress shirts.

The rust-carpeted upper level of Ciro Citterio contains what is perhaps the largest selection of men's suits, ties, and shoes in the Cardiff area. With modern pop music playing in the background, this Queen Street business also has a rather extensive collection of leather jackets and men's casual wear on its lower level. On the lower level near the rear of the store are sale racks that contain good deals on suits.

The dark wood trim and patterned carpet remind you of a traditional men's shop, as does the dark, mauve-painted panel above the door that reads "Clifton Suits." This is an upscale shop for men, offering a little bit of everything from suits and shirts to business wear and ties. The shop also offers alterations and formal wear rentals.

Jaeger's, which is located in the Capitol area, carries upscale apparel made of good-quality fabrics. A vase full of calla lilies or the like usually sits in the storefront window and, upon entering the store, customers are greeted by the store's helpful sales staff. For women, Jaeger's offers soft, fluid wools and silks, as well as sweaters, leather jackets, and slacks. Men's clothes are also available in this rather small shop.
